In February we also hired our former seamstress Nat to fill our newly launched artisan community liaison position. She excels in relating and listening well to people, and is now our full time staff member dedicated to visiting artisans each week, matching skills and needs to work opportunities, following up on needs in the artisan community, and connecting artisans to a loving supportive network of relationships.
Nat began her training by attending a 3 day trauma healing seminar put on by a local Thai counseling center. She has weekly practice in using these new skills not only on artisan home visits but also when artisans and trainees come in to Thai Village during the week. This week she’s working on a grant proposal to increase mental health services for our artisans.
