What does transformation look like?

A ripple effect, spilling over. Like overflow, a cup pouring out with more to give. Generosity and abundance instead of lack.

Part of our goal at Thai Village is to have a network of relationships that creates a relational safety net through community. Take Mai, who we met during the first COVID lockdown. A year later, Mai is inviting others to train and work at Thai Village. Beyond that, Mai is raising her kids on her own, and invited her nieces to live with her to finish their high school instead of dropping out. She invites her friends and family to join her at church and in online Bible studies. She is overflowing to the people around her.

Take Neuh, a macrame artisan raising her kids on her husband’s meager salary and stressful schedule as an orderly. On a recent visit to her home, she told us how grateful she is to God for providing work for her. She said, “I just pray and wait, and God always provides orders just when we need it.” Her faith overflows in gratitude and encourages our entire team that this work is bigger than us.

Take the local municipality partnership. What started off as offering to join in relief efforts has turned into new relationships with families and individuals in the community who are now Thai Village artisans. Those artisans are now inviting new artisans into the community, and sharing that this is a place where you can find help, work, and friends. The relief in the community that you supported has turned into a ripple effect bringing more holistic hope to more families.
