When Nuut started working with Thai Village many years ago, she mentioned she had a friend who was very good with her hands. Her name was Dao and she knew her from her previous job. In 2014, Nuut invited Dao to come in to Thai Village for vocational trainings. Dao began working with Nuut again and heard about Jesus from Nuut again. Nuut invited her to church but she said she wasn’t ready.

Dao began connecting with Nuut more and more. While she had various jobs, she would also occasionally come in to Thai Village for a training and take Thai Village projects to work at home. Over the years, she has joined in on Thai Village outreach events, and our team has visited her in her home several times, eating and praying with her; Dao has begun stopping by the Thai Village office once a week to pick up more work and hang out with staff.

Early this year, after a home visit she said “I think Jesus is real. I believe, but my husband does not believe. He won’t like it if I go to church and become a Christian.” Hearing this, the Thai Village team continued to spend time with Dao and we began praying for her to find an appropriate way to respect her husband while also coming to church. In June, Nuut invited Dao to the Promise Church women’s retreat. She agreed to attend and at the retreat she learned more about Jesus’s heart for women through a powerful devotion shared from Luke 7. The next week, Nuut invited her to church and she agreed to come!

Bible study with Pastor Wang

In July Dao began Bible classes with Pastor Wang. And in August Dao joined in a blessing ceremony for Thai Mother’s Day at Promise Church. This is all very new. Dao continues to come to church with Nuut and also continues to work with Thai Village, surrounded by friends.

The Holy Spirit has been working in Dao’s heart and mind for 20 years! It’s easy to think about all those years and wonder… How many times has Nuut invited her to church? How many times has she told her about Jesus? How many times is too many times? But then we remember the story of the lost sheep and remember that God will never stop coming after each and every one of His sheep. It is a joy and a privilege to be able to witness a new believer come to know Him!

Join us in lifting up Dao to God. Pray that He will continue to speak to her and guide her. Pray that Thai Village staff will be great witnesses to her as we encourage her. And pray that she will grow in her faith and understanding of God’s great love for her!
